Its elegant bobbin-form design comes with S- and P-marked stainless steel screw knobs so it can be used for both salt and pepper. Made of rubberwood from sustainable sources, the mill is coated with eight layers of high-gloss varnish, with each layer carefully hand-polished to a flawless shine. The product has been tested by independent laboratories and found to comply with EU food-contact legislation (84/500/EEC and 2005/31/EC). The durable ceramic grinding mechanism works easily when turned clockwise and should be used only with black pepper or dry rock salt of up to 4 mm. Sea salt, wet salts, dried wet salts or pink peppercorns are not recommended. The more the grinding adjustment knob is tightened the finer the grind, and the more it is loosened the coarser; however, avoid overtightening so as not to damage the mechanism. Care: Do not expose the product to direct sunlight for long periods. Clean gently with a soft, damp cloth; do not immerse in water.
